Let's Celebrate This Pride Month

June has arrived, and with it so has Pride Month. The month ahead is a beautiful reminder that being yourself is to be celebrated loud, proud, and unapologetically- something we preach here at Unndr.
Now, one huge way to celebrate all things LGBTQIA+ is by attending the hundreds of Pride events across the world. I know my calender is already looking busy…
Whether you're marching in your first parade, hosting a backyard brunch, or simply navigating the wild ride that is June, you must ensure to take care of your mind and body to keep the party going. Let’s break it down, one fabulous step at a time:
1. Hydrate Baby
Water is your best friend—especially after dancing under the sun in 6-inch platforms. Stay hydrated so you can keep on partying the night away.
2. Take a Break Without Guilt
Pride is a marathon, not a sprint. It’s okay to say “no” to events. It’s okay to stay home and binge-watch your favorite queer show while wrapped in a weighted blanket- we know Ru would agree.
3. Surround Yourself with Your People
Chosen family is everything. Whether that’s your drag siblings, your fellow book club babes, or your dog who doesn’t judge your outfit choices—spend time with people who let you be 100% you. Celebrate your community, with YOUR COMMUNITY.
4. Celebrate All Kinds of Pride
Pride is for the loud and the quiet. For the out and the still-questioning. For the glitter-covered and the cozy introverts. All expressions are valid, beautiful, and worthy of celebration- make sure how you celebrate is correct for you.
5. Dance It Out
Even if it’s just in your kitchen in pajamas. There’s something healing about moving your body to a beat that makes your heart happy. Bonus points for lip-syncing dramatically into a wooden spoon.
So this Pride Month, while you're spreading love and rocking rainbows, don’t forget to love on yourself, too. Because being queer is powerful. Being kind to yourself? That’s revolutionary.
Now go forth, sparkle responsibly, and remember: you are the main character!
